Midwest Coral Farms, LLC

Viewing a magnificent reef show tank filled with all the beautiful living elements of a reef ecosystem gave birth to the idea of building a coral farm.

Simple enough or so it seemed nearly three years ago.  An initial 900 square foot facility demonstrated all of the challenges of achieving and maintaining water quality, electrical problems, flooding and the intricacies of trying to duplicate the simple elegance of mother natures’ reefs. We not only survived, but learned, made many valuable friends, and developed the core principles which became the foundation of Midwest Coral Farms.

To be the leader in providing the highest quality living elements and supplies to create a reef ecosystem including natural and aqua-cultured corals, marine fish, invertebrates, clams and live rock.

  • To help preserve the world’s reefs by employing state-of-the-art aqua-culture techniques so that continuous regeneration and coral propagation can occur.

  • To educate and continuously learn about the best practices of water filtration, water chemistry, lighting, and compatibility necessary to create the ideal aquarium habitat.

 

Now located in Highland Park, Illinois we proudly invite you to visit our 3700 square foot farm. We believe it may be one of the largest such facilities in the Midwest, offering natural and propagated corals including SPS (small polyp stony), marine fish, clams and invertebrates. We seek out the best available from all over the world as long as the industry’s best practices have been employed in obtaining the specimens. Whether you seek ‘frags’ or rare show pieces ours is to make them available to you.

Midwest Coral Farms specializes in coral propagation and aqua-culture because we strongly believe we must help preserve the ocean’s reefs for future generations. Our reefs are precious and it is imperative that we and all aquarists and hobbyists fiercely protect nature’s wild corals.
